The front garden beckons me on, still a lot to do here. The fading bluebells and daffodils tend to make the scene look a lot more weed infested than what it actually is. First bed beginning to take shape with dahlias, a little line of chrysthanths and begonia.
Finally the arches are up, the fences and trellis are a strange luminous red thanks to Cuprinol. The lavenders are in and my first dahlias are in the ground and raring to go.
The sun is out on Easter weekend so Spring is really here. Plants shrubs and daffodils bursting forth all around me I know this is my last chance to get the arches in before efforts switch full-time to weeding, pruning and plant care.
This evening I scanned some photos of what the garden used to look like. Mainly from the mid to late 1990s, and I will add some more as I find them. Along with the other page links near the top of the screen.
These were from last year and purchased from my favourite Ebay supplier Bulb1, (Garthwaite Nurseries). Click here to visit Bulb1
Video diary update of the back garden. Not bothering with the front as there is zero progress to report!
Seed trays and early dahlia tubers all in progress. My little lavender plug plants are putting on growth but there is nowhere to plant them yet. The race against time becomes more obvious!
My previous plan of putting up a temporary polytunnel is on the back burner as I can’t get the time off work to take delivery and build it. Probably a blessing in disguise as I had a real feeling that once up it would not come back down again.
